About the Role
This position sits within air freight export operations and focuses on managing shipments from booking through to departure. The role calls for careful coordination, accurate paperwork, clear communication, and the ability to keep operations moving smoothly in a time-sensitive logistics setting.
What You’ll Do
- Support the full air export shipment process, starting with booking and ending with flight departure.
- Work closely with airlines, GSA offices, trucking partners, and warehouse teams to arrange space and move cargo.
- Prepare and handle export paperwork such as MAWB, HAWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, and export permits.
- Make sure shipments follow airline rules, IATA standards, and export customs requirements.
- Send shipping instructions and verify flight timings as well as cut-off deadlines.
- Monitor shipment progress and share timely updates with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support customs export clearance and confirm that all documents are complete and accurate.
- Record shipment data in freight systems and keep operational files up to date.
- Resolve operational problems such as rollovers, delays, and document mismatches.
- Take on additional operational and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Approximately 2 years of experience in air freight forwarding or export operations is preferred, but candidates without prior experience may still be considered.
- Working knowledge of air export processes, Incoterms, and IATA rules is an added advantage.
- Strong planning skills and a keen eye for detail are essential.
- Good spoken and written communication abilities are required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform well under pressure to meet flight cut-off times.
- Comfortable using MS Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Prior exposure to freight forwarding or cargo management systems is beneficial.
- Self-driven, accountable, and willing to learn.
- Customer-focused with solid problem-solving ability.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
