Anatomic Pathology Assistant

Position Overview

The Anatomic Pathology Assistant plays a critical supporting role within the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department. Tasks include accessioning specimens, conducting gross specimen descriptions, photographic documentation, and performing autopsies under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pathology professionals and staff in daily operations.
• Ensure the highest quality and integrity of specimens processed.
• Perform autopsies adhering to departmental protocols.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance pathology services.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail and consistent execution of assigned tasks.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in chemical or biological sciences.
• Minimum of five years of experience within anatomic pathology.
• Certification from ASCP BOR.
• Thorough understanding of human anatomy, specimen filing systems, and proficiency with computer applications.
