Role overview
Priory Hospital Glasgow is hiring a full-time Assistant Psychologist to work on a site-based schedule of 37.5 hours each week. The salary for this position is £26,300 per year. The hospital is a major inpatient centre in the UK, offering specialist treatment for a broad range of mental health concerns and addiction-related conditions. It is based in Glasgow and is well connected by public transport from the city centre.
What you will do
In this post, you will support the Eating Disorder Inpatient Unit by holding a small caseload, delivering one-to-one and group-based work with patients, and carrying out therapeutic interventions with direction from the Registered Psychologist.
- Prepare reports and handle data gathering, data entry, and research-related tasks.
- Take part in team discussions and meetings.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team case conferences.
- Attend continuing professional development sessions.
What you should bring
The role calls for the practical use of knowledge gained through an undergraduate psychology degree. You will work under the supervision of an experienced practitioner psychologist who is registered with the HCPC.
- Experience facilitating interventions is helpful, though not mandatory.
- Prior exposure to eating disorders or personality disorders is also helpful but not required.
- Being able to work well within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
