Role overview
This position supports quantity surveying and tender-related activities for construction projects in Singapore. The role covers tender review, measurement, pricing, subcontractor sourcing, contract documentation, site follow-up, and final account support.
Key duties
- Review tender notices on GeBiz, SESAMI, Tender Board, and similar portals every day.
- Examine tender documents and drawings, and raise clarification questions when needed.
- Join site show-rounds as part of the tender and project evaluation process.
- Carry out quantity take-offs for sub-structure, structural, and architectural works.
- Obtain quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Compare quotations and verify that submissions meet tender conditions.
- Draft work orders for awarding subcontractor and supplier packages.
- Prepare bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and related supporting documents.
- Compile cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Put together tender documents and addenda.
- Assist in preparing letters of intent, letters of award, and contract documents.
- Track quantities of materials ordered.
- Participate in weekly site meetings.
- Visit project sites to assess progress for interim claims and variation order claims.
- Review final account claims submitted by the main contractor.
Requirements
- A diploma in Quantity Surveying, Building, or Civil and Structural Engineering is required at minimum.
- Candidates with a diploma and at least 3 years of work experience are preferred, especially those who have worked with local main contractors.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is needed.
- Applicants should be able to handle several tasks at once and work under strict deadlines.
- The role calls for someone who can work on their own as well as contribute effectively to a team.
- A careful, detail-oriented, and analytical approach is important.
- Good communication skills are expected.
- A willingness to learn is essential.
- The role reports to the Managing Director and Contract Manager.
- Selected candidates may need to work longer hours and, at times, weekends because of tender deadlines.
- This is a 5-day work week position.
- Training will be provided for entry-level applicants.
- Compensation will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
