Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in managing day-to-day retail activities, ensuring high customer satisfaction and meeting sales targets. This role steps in as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is unavailable.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in staff supervision and operational duties.
- Assist with merchandising, unpacking daily deliveries, and stocking shelves.
- Deliver excellent customer service and handle escalated customer concerns effectively.
- Train, coach, and develop team members to enhance performance.
- Manage cash operations and perform store opening and closing procedures as required.
- Delegate responsibilities to team members while maintaining store safety and cleanliness standards.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback regularly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain the store's visual merchandising to company standards.
- Participate in recruitment and manage employee performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years of experience working in retail.
- Minimum of two years in a supervisory or managerial position.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership qualities with effective communication and decision-making abilities.
- Capability to multitask and prioritize duties efficiently in a fast-moving environment.
