Assistant/Deputy Manager – Purchase Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant/Deputy Manager for the Purchase department with 10-12 years of expertise specifically in the Real Estate or Construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a graduate degree, with preference given to those holding a Diploma in Supply Chain Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct strategic sourcing by identifying and qualifying dependable vendors for essential materials such as cement, steel, ready-mix concrete (RMC), AAC blocks, and various electrical and plumbing supplies across both high and low segments.
• Evaluate supplier quotations, lead negotiations to finalize commercially favorable terms including pricing, payment schedules, and delivery milestones.
• Maintain and expand a comprehensive supplier database, ensuring consistent updates to increase the vendor pool and promote competitive procurement processes.
• Collaborate with site engineers and heads of department to accurately comprehend material specifications and quantities as per Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
• Handle full procurement cycle documentation including preparing purchase orders, comparison sheets, managing material indents from project sites, and overseeing final payments.
• Coordinate logistics by scheduling deliveries with project sites and managing any issues related to invoice discrepancies or delivery timing.
• Perform ongoing market research to identify new technologies, materials, cost-effective alternatives, and gather competitive intelligence from other developers.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in usage of real estate enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, specifically Farvision.
• Strong understanding of the local market dynamics in the Kolkata region and South India.
• Expertise in inventory management and control processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder interactions.
