Role Overview

We are collaborating with a prominent financial institution to recruit an Associate within their Corporate Development & Strategy team. This position offers a unique chance to be part of a highly effective internal group responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of mergers & acquisitions (M&A), divestments, and strategic investments, interacting closely with senior leaders across the organization.

Key Duties

  • Lead and assist in comprehensive M&A and divestment initiatives, encompassing financial assessment, due diligence, and transaction execution.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to appraise deals, including integrated three-statement models, discounted cash flow (DCF) valuations, as well as accretion/dilution and return analyses.
  • Perform strategic and commercial evaluations to guide investment choices.
  • Collaborate extensively with senior figures in finance, strategic planning, and business units.
  • Draft investment documentation and presentations for executive and board decision-making forums.
  • Analyze market trends, partnership opportunities, and avenues for inorganic growth.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess 3 to 5 years of experience in investment banking (focusing on M&A, coverage, or leveraged finance), Big 4 transaction services or deals advisory, or corporate development roles within large organizations.
  • Proven track record working on active transactions and constructing comprehensive financial models.
  • Demonstrate advanced expertise in financial modeling, valuation methods such as DCF, comparable company analyses, transaction comps, and thorough understanding of M&A mechanics and deal structuring.
  • Capability to independently build financial models from their foundational components.
  • Exhibit sound commercial judgment and strong analytical skills.
  • Comfortable communicating confidently with senior stakeholders and working autonomously with high accountability.
  • Detail-focused, proactive, and intellectually inquisitive.

Why Join This Team

  • Transition into a strategically oriented, internal deal-making unit.
  • Engage in substantial, enterprise-wide decision-making processes.
  • Gain visibility among senior leadership and decision-makers.
  • Develop a robust platform for progressing careers in corporate development, strategy, or investment functions.
