About the role
Mace is seeking an Associate Director - Procurement to help lead procurement activity on a major programme in Saudi Arabia. The work sits within a large mixed-use development that includes sports venues, entertainment, arts, and the supporting infrastructure needed to deliver it.
As part of a delivery partner team, you will be expected to bring strong experience and senior-level leadership to integrated teams working across all phases of the project.
Key responsibilities
- Lead category management teams and manage large, complex tender exercises with strong direction and focus.
- Develop productive relationships with senior stakeholders inside and outside the organisation to improve delivery results.
- Support performance management, professional growth, and coaching while demonstrating effective leadership behaviours.
- Provide informed due diligence and market intelligence to improve value across commercial activities, processes, and performance.
- Help shape strategy, adjust plans where needed, and oversee implementation to meet goals in demanding environments.
- Work in line with the organisation’s net zero carbon objectives by helping identify, manage, and reduce related emissions during project delivery.
What you need
- A relevant degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Professional credentials such as CIPS, along with other relevant industry certifications.
- Strong commercial judgement and experience handling high-value, complex tenders.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively with executives and clients.
- Good knowledge of construction and the market, ideally gained through main contractor experience.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders and build trusted relationships.
- Eligibility for a Saudi Arabia visa and relevant experience on high-value projects or programmes within a project management consultancy, as required for immigration and client approval.
