This entry-level position as an Associate Civil Engineer is perfect for recent graduates or professionals starting their engineering careers who want to develop their technical skills in a collaborative setting. Under the mentorship of seasoned engineers, you will apply core engineering principles to assist in planning, designing, analyzing, and delivering engineering projects, gaining hands-on experience and honing both technical and professional competencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine engineering and design tasks leveraging established principles and best practices.
- Assist in generating engineering calculations, quantity take-offs, estimating costs, conducting surveys, preparing technical reports, and compiling design documentation.
- Support procurement processes including material purchase requisitions, service requests, and subcontractor documentation.
- Help senior engineers review supplier drawings, technical submittals, and evaluate bids.
- Prepare engineering specifications, data sheets, and construction-related documents.
- Collaborate with CAD/CADD designers to ensure precise drafting of engineering drawings.
- Coordinate design activities with cross-disciplinary teams to guarantee technical consistency, compatibility, and timely project delivery.
- Participate in design meetings and aid in resolving technical interface challenges under supervision.
- Engage in site inspections, field investigations, sampling, and data gathering as necessary.
- Maintain accurate project records adhering to company policies, client standards, and engineering regulations.
- Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support project aims.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Up to 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and practices.
- Working familiarity with engineering software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Exposure to CAD or CADD software is beneficial.
- Strong analytical thought processes and problem-solving aptitude.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to function well in teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and quality focus.
- Motivation to learn and grow professionally.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments while adhering to deadlines.
