About the Role
Tonal invites a driven, fitness-oriented Associate to join our Strategy & Corporate Development team. Positioned at the crossroads of strategic foresight, partnership management, and critical business analysis, this role influences major company directions, including market growth, competitive stance, and partnership evaluation.
This role demands an independent, analytical, team-centric individual with a solid work ethic who excels under ambiguity, thrives in fast-paced environments, and delves deeply into business dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to strategic initiatives using data and research, helping shape both immediate and extended company strategies.
- Analyze extensive quantitative and qualitative datasets, transforming findings into strategic recommendations, hypotheses, and insights.
- Conduct market and competitor evaluations across consumer hardware, fitness, wellness, and related technology sectors to inform leadership strategies.
- Construct financial models and business cases to assess strategic choices, emerging markets, and potential investments.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to facilitate transaction structuring and negotiation support through targeted analyses.
- Manage comprehensive partnership processes including sourcing, evaluation, and internal recommendations.
- Engage cross-functionally with Finance, Product, Revenue, and Operations teams to validate and test strategic frameworks and projects.
- Assist in preparing executive communications including board materials, presentations, and strategic documentation.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum three years experience in analytical and strategic functions such as investment banking, private equity, management consulting, corporate strategy, or development.
- Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to tackle complex and ambiguous challenges effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills to succinctly convey analyses and strategies to executive leadership.
- Self-motivated with the ability to independently navigate a dynamic and resource-limited environment.
- Demonstrated initiative in ownership and responsibility for projects aligned with broader company objectives.
- A passion for the fitness and wellness spheres, and keen interest in Tonal's business ecosystem.
- Strong capabilities in managing senior stakeholders and working collaboratively across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree is required with preference for candidates with strong academic records.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Proficiency in complex financial modeling including three-statement models, discounted cash flow, scenario analysis, and unit economics.
- Experience with data manipulation and insight generation using software such as Excel, Looker, or DataBricks.
- Expertise in clearly communicating complex data and concepts using Microsoft Excel and Google Suite.
- Robust research skills with a track record of independent industry and growth opportunity analysis.
- Experience relevant to consumer hardware, health and wellness, or subscription business sectors.
- Familiarity with strategic partnership and business development practices.

Compensation
The remuneration for this role ranges between $120,000 and $140,000 annually.
