About the Role

Ocean Infinity is looking for an AUV Operator to join its offshore crew in Singapore. In this position, you will help run Hugin autonomous underwater vehicles, carry out maintenance and fault diagnosis, and support repairs to the AUV and related equipment while working at sea on the Armada fleet. The work is fast paced and priorities can shift quickly, so adaptability and calm execution in changing conditions are important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow the company’s operating procedures while carrying out assigned duties.
  • Prepare pre-project planning documents and maintain records and logs required for the contract scope.
  • Learn the operation, servicing, and troubleshooting of the assigned system, including the launch and recovery system.
  • Carry out tasks in the preventative maintenance program as directed by the AUV manager or technical lead, and keep maintenance records up to date.
  • Prepare system sensors for calibration.
  • Support asset management activities.
  • Perform approved software upgrades on the system.
  • Take part in global project mobilisation and demobilisation when needed.
  • Assist with company research and development work.
  • Ensure equipment and safety gear are suitable and ready for use before operations begin.
  • Stay alert to how changing conditions may affect safe performance of work.
  • Communicate clearly and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Join lessons-learned reviews and help implement improvements.
  • Build proficiency in Kongsberg Hugin Operator and Payload software.
  • Keep up to date with industry system developments.
  • Support department administration as required.

Requirements

  • HND or degree level qualification in electronic or electrical systems.
  • BOSIET certification and an offshore medical certificate.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics.
  • Availability to work offshore in 4/6-week rotation cycles.
  • Comfort using IT systems and networking tools.
  • Strong computer and software application skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and system schematics.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Team-oriented mindset with concern for others and commitment to doing the best for the group.
  • Sense of ownership and commitment to the work.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills in a busy environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Good critical thinking and initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively both alone and with a team.
  • Interest in protecting people and the planet.
  • Preferred: prior experience with Hugin AUV systems.

Work Schedule and Offshore Commitment

The role involves offshore work on a rotational pattern of 4/6 weeks on and off. The expected offshore commitment is approximately 180 days based on 6/6 week rotations.

Compensation

The package can go up to £80,000 per year, split between base pay and an offshore uplift. The pay level may differ depending on regional location, job grade, skills, ability, and relevant experience.
