Job description

Context and Environment

  • This role requires specialized training not available locally and demands a strong motivation to achieve results.
  • Necessary tools for training and staff development are provided.
  • Air TOTAL and TotalEnergies Marketing Uganda have equipped the facility with tools that comply with Group and international aviation standards.
  • The Aviation Mechanic receives guidance from the Aviation Manager, Depot Operations Manager, Operations Manager, and AFR logistics teams.

Main Objective and Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of all Aviation Into-Plane fueling equipment at the facility.
  • Adhere to the company's Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policy.
  • Develop maintenance schedules and monitor them to ensure proper upkeep of all into-plane equipment and fleet.
  • Perform maintenance on into-plane vehicles and equipment following JIG & MOCQAT standards.
  • Conduct corrective maintenance for minor repairs on aviation fueling equipment.
  • Continuously monitor filtration systems and safety features of aviation equipment.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and update all quality-related records.
  • Mentor and train new personnel on maintenance of into-plane equipment.
  • Supervise contractors, especially those working on aviation equipment in the depot.
  • Manage sales records and reconcile meters.
  • Participate occasionally in refueling activities and drum filling.
  • Implement audit recommendations in coordination with the Aviation Manager.
  • Guide the refueling team in proper equipment use and achieving company objectives.
  • Ensure availability and good working condition of all necessary equipment and spare parts.
  • Enforce JIG requirements and standards related to equipment and JET A1 quality per MOCQAT guidelines.

Candidate Profile

  • Comprehensive background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in vehicle repairs as well as hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Minimum of a commercial driving permit (Class CM).
  • Good computer skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
