Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and resourceful Banking Associate to join our lending team, specializing in business loans. You will play a key role in supporting lending operations and addressing the diverse financial needs of our business clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively connect with customers via outbound calls to assist with banking inquiries and lending eligibility assessments.
- Promote Tyro's banking solutions in all customer interactions to increase awareness.
- Support clients with banking inquiries and advise on procedures relating to banking, accounts, and lending.
- Collaborate with sales and account management teams by identifying and referring EFTPOS opportunities.
- Develop strong relationships with business clients to foster advocacy and encourage repeat borrowing.
- Coordinate closely with risk and product teams to address customer needs effectively.
- Collect financial documents for manual assessment and prepare preliminary reviews of applicants' financials and credit histories.
- Conduct basic credit analysis to evaluate the creditworthiness of loan applicants before risk submission.
- Monitor loan portfolio quality, including default rates, to ensure a healthy lending book.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings.
- Provide customer and business insights to internal stakeholders to support decision-making.
- Perform additional duties such as managing customer enquiries, supporting initiatives, projects, and campaigns as instructed by management.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in banking or financial services with practical exposure to lending and credit products.
- Background in phone-based sales or telesales is highly valued.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills.
- Effective time management, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Confidence in building relationships with clients and internal teams, demonstrating a proactive approach and initiative.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and an interest in credit and lending fundamentals.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or business is desirable but not mandatory, along with a basic understanding of financial statements and credit analysis.
