Job description

Overview

The Business Analyst role is focused on leading modernization projects for advisor platforms and account opening/onboarding workflows specifically within the wealth management sector. This position requires close collaboration with business partners, product owners, and engineering teams to define clear requirements and facilitate digital transformation of both advisor and client-facing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, examine, and document detailed business requirements for initiatives aimed at updating advisor platforms and account opening systems.
  • Convert requirements into actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and visualize process flows to support development.
  • Perform thorough analysis and redesign of end-to-end account opening and onboarding processes, including new account creations, householding, account maintenance, and money movement, aiming to minimize manual interventions and process delays.
  • Work directly with advisors and operational teams to detect existing system deficiencies and suggest technological enhancements, prioritizing automation and digital improvements.
  • Contribute actively to Agile frameworks by managing product backlogs, participating in sprint ceremonies, demonstrations, and ensuring delivered features meet the intended business objectives.
  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by creating test cases, organizing defect triage sessions, and supporting release cycles for onboarding and platform upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 to 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a minimum of 3 years in Wealth Management, Asset Management, or Broker-Dealer environments, having hands-on exposure to advisor platform technologies or account opening systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of account opening and onboarding workflows, along with familiarity with advisor-focused workflow tools.
  • Proven experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies; adept at creating Business and Functional Requirements Documents (BRDs, FRDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, process flow diagrams, and data mappings.
