Job description
Overview
This role involves independently managing every stage of new site development for Tesla's Charging products in a designated area. Responsibilities include identifying optimal locations, negotiating contracts with site hosts, conducting utility and permitting feasibility analyses, and ensuring smooth transition to design and installation teams for project completion. The position is dedicated to enhancing the charging experience for current and prospective Tesla customers through convenient station placement.
This position requires adaptability as responsibilities may evolve in accordance with Tesla's network and organizational changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and manage a portfolio of potential sites aligned with market goals to support present and future electric vehicle users.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with internal teams and external collaborators involved in deployment.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and due diligence on potential sites.
- Coordinate with utility providers and permitting authorities to secure all necessary approvals.
- Collaborate with legal teams to prepare, negotiate, and finalize agreements with site hosts.
- Partner with design and installation teams to evaluate installation expenses and schedules.
- Maintain accurate forecasting of upcoming milestones and thoroughly document progression throughout development phases.
Candidate Profile
- Proficient negotiator with demonstrated success in contract discussions, real estate, utility planning, charging and EV infrastructure policy, and local permitting are highly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle over 20 projects simultaneously without oversight.
- Highly autonomous and driven, with a proactive, results-oriented mindset and clear communication about project requirements.
- Strong business acumen, capable of understanding site host priorities and integrating Tesla charging solutions to align with their objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging diverse stakeholders such as executives, facility managers, city planners, marketing, and utility experts.
- Proactive risk management approach to preemptively address issues that could delay project timelines.
