Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
Black Box is seeking a driven and high-performing Business Development / Account Manager in New Zealand. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across Enterprise Networking, Modern Workplace, and Contact Centre solutions, and will play a key role in expanding client relationships and driving revenue growth.
What you'll do
- Bring in new business and win fresh clients.
- Take ownership of RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs, including preparation and response management.
- Build quotes and proposals alongside the Black Box Solutions team.
- Manage a portfolio of selected strategic accounts.
- Develop strong relationships with clients across all seniority levels.
- Oversee renewals for certain existing customers.
- Create and maintain active account plans for priority clients.
- Run regular innovation and roadmap discussions with clients.
- Expand existing accounts by introducing additional Black Box offerings such as CX/CCaaS, Digital Workplace/UCaaS, Enterprise Networking, and Cyber Security.
- Present solutions and services to prospective and existing clients.
- Work with the Solutions and Innovation team for demos, discovery workshops, proposal responses, presales design, and client roadmap planning.
- Sell on value rather than relying on price reductions.
- Keep vendor certifications current and completed as required.
- Maintain Salesforce diligently so opportunities are accurate and updated regularly.
- Deliver quarterly and annual revenue as well as gross margin targets.
Experience and skills expected
The role calls for someone with a strong grasp of customer experience and employee experience technologies, including contact centre, automation, and IP telephony, along with related consulting, integration, professional services, and recurring support models. Experience selling these solutions is important.
You should also understand the commercial value of modern workplace offerings, enterprise networking, and wireless, 5G, and LTE services, with direct experience selling in these areas.
The right person will bring solid business and commercial judgement, strong knowledge of the CX/EX market, and familiarity with current industry developments. A consultative, value-led sales approach is essential.
You must be able to identify client needs and convert them into sales opportunities, while building productive relationships with customers, prospects, consultants, and vendor partners. Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities are required, along with the confidence to engage stakeholders at every level.
Success in this role also depends on resilience under pressure, the ability to meet demanding deadlines, strong organisation, sharp attention to detail, and the capacity to juggle multiple priorities in a busy environment.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or IT is preferred, though not mandatory.
Additional requirements
You should have more than 6 years of experience and a proven history of beating quota and key performance measures.
