Job description
Position Overview
This role is for a Buying Assistant on a contractual basis lasting over six months, located in Beaverton, OR, with onsite presence required from Monday to Thursday. It specifically focuses on buying responsibilities in retail or merchandising sectors, not on visual merchandising.
Candidate Profile
- Requires 1-2 years of experience in footwear or apparel buying, merchandising, product development, or retail within multi-brand, vertical, or digital environments.
- Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
Key Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding and passion for current market trends with the ability to help the company maintain a leadership position in apparel styles.
- Experience related to buying and merchandising in Footwear, Apparel, Equipment, or similar consumer products.
- Familiarity with retail and digital profit-centered metrics such as sell-through, turn, average selling price (ASP), units per transaction (UPT), among others.
Soft Skills
- Cooperative team player with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel techniques.
- Basic skills in Microsoft applications.
