Education and Experience Required
- Certification in basic drafting software combined with over 7 years of drafting experience; or
- Technical certification in a relevant design field along with a minimum of 3 years professional experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively as a member of the design team
- Develop design concepts and ideas
- Create submittal and fabrication drawings for various product categories
- Review and verify the quality of design drawings according to company standards
- Organize and engage in collaborative design workshops (charrettes)
- Respond to questions from both internal teams and external clients
Job Requirements and Skills
- Proficient understanding of architectural and engineering drawings
- Experience with 3D modeling software is required
- Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor/Product Design Suite is advantageous
- Must be skilled in AutoCAD, Rhino, AutoDesk Inventor, and AutoDesk Revit/BIM CAD software
- Experience using CAM software such as RADAN is a plus
- Knowledge of AutoDesk VAULT is beneficial
- Ability to manage CAD department inquiries and review drawing requests for completeness
- Prepare various types of drawings including art, die, fabrication, and submittal formats
- Create full-size paper templates for manufacturing and client use
- Assist in developing and upholding engineering drafting standards
- Propose and implement solutions for design challenges
- Perform quality checks on drawings prepared by other drafters as assigned
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Effectively communicate with production staff, engineers, sales personnel, architects, and contractors
