Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on caretaker couple to oversee daily operations at Palm Lake Resort Forster Lakes. This role, held by two full-time employees collaboratively, involves administrative and operational duties to sustain the resort’s excellence. Reporting to the Resort Operations Manager, the caretakers are pivotal in leading onsite teams and delivering the iconic Palm Lake lifestyle to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily resort management, resident support, facility inspections, waste handling, and emergency responsiveness.
- Oversee and mentor staff members, ensuring adherence to safety, health, and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, security, and presentation of the resort, including upkeep of grounds, shared spaces, and amenities.
- Coordinate and perform general maintenance, repairs, landscaping, pest control, and operate equipment like mowers, trimmers, and pool facilities.
- Help with meal services and support resident activities and transportation, including driving the resort bus as needed.
- Manage administrative duties such as reception assistance, timesheet handling, utility recording, and documentation.
- Support sales activities related to previously owned homes by responding to inquiries, conducting tours, and assisting with resident onboarding and handovers.
- Enforce Workplace Health & Safety standards across the resort.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, ensuring the security of the resort.
- Provide warm, friendly service to residents while nurturing a positive community spirit and enhancing the resort’s reputation.
Candidate Requirements
- Between three to five years of experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance, groundskeeping, or resort/village management roles.
- Background in general maintenance, gardening, and upkeep within residential, hospitality, or resort settings.
- Prior experience in supervising, training, or coordinating staff and contractors.
- Possession of a current, unrestricted driver’s license with confidence driving larger vehicles, including buses.
- Administrative skills complemented by proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer literacy.
- Capability to operate and maintain groundskeeping machinery and tools safely.
- Thorough knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, building positive relationships with residents, families, and visitors.
- Competence in conflict resolution, professional handling of sensitive situations, and calm emergency response.
- A proactive, positive attitude with a commitment to high standards of appearance and service quality.
- Effective organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
