Job description
About Birla Pivot
Birla Pivot, established just 2.5 years ago, has rapidly grown into a comprehensive B2B e-commerce platform delivering integrated procurement and financial solutions that enable businesses to enhance efficiency and expand. The platform presents products across 35 categories, featuring over 40,000 SKUs from more than 300 brands spanning Building Materials, Chemicals, and Metals. The company has introduced private label products in three key areas: Tiles, Plywood, and Bathware. Supported by an extensive supplier and logistics network, deliveries cover more than 4,000 pin codes across 375 cities.
Birla Pivot serves a diverse client base including major EPC companies, civil contractors, real estate developers, OEMs, fabricators, manufacturers, dealers, and retailers. By seamlessly connecting sellers, buyers, logistics firms, lending partners, and payment solution providers via a unified digital platform, it offers end-to-end visibility and delivers a B2C-style fulfillment experience tailored for B2B operations. Given that digital penetration in B2B e-commerce remains under 2%, Birla Pivot envisions substantial growth potential through scalable, tech-driven platforms. As part of the Aditya Birla Group, the company leverages extensive industry expertise and scale to revolutionize commerce within these sectors, utilizing a unique quote-based, credit-linked commerce model supported by a team combining industry wisdom with tech platform development experience.
Role Summary and Responsibilities
- Formulate and lead the private label product strategy, encompassing the definition of product range architecture, assortment selection, specification development, compliance measures, and market positioning across categories.
- Drive product differentiation by establishing quality tiers, pricing strategies, and managing the product lifecycle, continually benchmarking against national, regional, and local brands.
- Identify, contract, and manage manufacturing partners specifically for finishing products such as tiles, bathware, plywood, and related categories, which includes negotiating commercial terms, capacity planning, and quality benchmarks including rejection norms.
- Enforce adherence to scope of work agreements with vendors and maintain accountability through regular Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Oversee the private label profit and loss, shaping pricing strategies, discounting, promotional activities, and managing cost adjustments to maintain margins.
- Enhance margin outcomes through procurement cost optimization, preventing losses/leakages, and ensuring compliance with order processing and pricing across categories.
- Implement strict quality assurance processes, from raw material standards and factory audits to final product certifications (such as BIS, ISI, ISO), ensuring all private label products align with platform quality criteria prior to launch.
- Administer packaging specifications and compliance standards, manage after-sales service partner selection, and coordinate complaint resolution and defect correction with operations and quality teams.
- Continuously analyze the market and competitors to benchmark Birla Pivot’s private label offerings against leading and emerging players, leveraging detailed market insights and commercial expertise to anticipate and respond to shifts in the competitive environment.
