Role Overview

Join StockX, the leading global marketplace blending commerce, community, and credibility, as a Category Manager for Apparel. This role is essential to expanding StockX’s apparel presence, a core category reflecting identity, culture, and global fashion trends. You will lead apparel category growth within a critical commerce initiative, owning supply expansion, engagement, and revenue, while representing StockX to apparel stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the entire apparel category strategy and performance on the platform, tracking supply, engagement, and revenue.
  • Set quarterly objectives and operational rhythms to drive category growth.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of apparel culture, including sellers, designers, brands, sub-segments such as streetwear and luxury, seasonal trends, collaborations, and resale economics.
  • Advise internal teams using insights from the apparel community to guide product and marketing decisions.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of top-tier apparel sellers, designers, influencers, and brands, personally onboarding flagship sellers.
  • Create seller strategies that fuse storytelling, credibility, and commerce effectively.
  • Identify and execute apparel-specific campaigns and moments to stimulate engagement and sales, partnering with marketing to develop authentic initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with account managers, product, and engineering teams to enhance seller and buyer experiences based on market insights.
  • Document frameworks, best practices, and operational playbooks to standardize category management as the team grows.

Candidate Profile

  • Immersed in second-hand fashion and apparel culture, equipped with deep relationships and current market knowledge.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in category management, partnerships, marketplace growth, or related roles within apparel, streetwear, or fashion ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to not only strategize but also execute, iterate, and adapt plans effectively.
  • Strong networking and credibility with apparel sellers, creators, and community leaders.
  • Data-driven with a solid understanding of pricing, margins, liquidity, and incentive structures.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, motivated by building initiatives from the ground up.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Established networks among apparel resellers, brands, designers, or boutiques.
  • Experience in resale or fashion marketplaces, including buying and selling apparel.
  • Familiarity with content-driven commerce, creator platforms, and enthusiast communities.
  • Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams.
  • Background in managing or founding startups or own business.

Additional Information

This role is pivotal in shaping the future cultural positioning and success of StockX's apparel initiative. The position directly influences StockX’s credibility within the apparel community and sets standards applicable to future categories.

Compensation in Colorado ranges from $120,000 to $130,000 annually, with additional benefits such as medical, dental, equity, and performance bonuses. Salary may vary in other locations.
