This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary package.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance management of mechanical and electrical services for assigned data centre facilities.
- Assist with preparation and oversight of operational (OpEx) and capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets.
- Supervise technical personnel, including direct team members, outsourced suppliers, and contractors.
- Act as the subject matter expert for M&E services operations on site.
- Support operations and maintenance troubleshooting activities.
- Own and continuously improve operational procedures and preventative maintenance programs for M&E systems.
- Develop and maintain facility-specific safety and maintenance procedure manuals.
- Coordinate maintenance workflows with change control, external providers, and contractors.
- Collaborate with project delivery teams on commissioning and operational readiness of new projects.
- Champion health and safety efforts, including risk identification and mitigation within work areas.
- Maintain accuracy of safety documentation, drawings, asset registers, and maintenance management systems.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations such as fires, evacuations, and equipment failures.
- Manage inventory control and procurement of parts and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes, and company policies related to M&E operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 5 years in the data centre industry.
- Completion of a mechanical or electrical apprenticeship is essential, alongside a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline.
- Experience with commissioning and start-up of new data centre facilities is desirable but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated direct experience managing M&E services within data centres, focusing on availability and continuous improvement.
- Strong knowledge of critical mechanical and electrical infrastructure in data centres.
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret engineering documentation such as drawings, P&IDs, safety files, and manuals.
- Experience managing service delivery either directly or through third-party providers.
- Proven track record integrating new projects or services into critical environments.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive mindset and a commitment to improving maintenance services.
