Role Overview

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is the senior technology leader responsible for setting the strategic technology roadmap, guiding the product portfolio, and serving as a credible technical voice to customers across Beacon EmbeddedWorks and Diamond Technologies. This position emphasizes driving commercial growth through technology investment decisions, focusing on portfolio strategy and platform scalability rather than daily engineering tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the R&D team, overseeing daily operations, employee development, and performance evaluation.
• Ensure technology and product decisions align with market demands and customer value to accelerate commercial outcomes.
• Define and maintain a cohesive technology and product portfolio strategy across business units.
• Evaluate major technology investments for commercial return, risk, and time to market while managing technical debt and complexity.
• Act as a senior technical representative in customer and partner interactions, translating technology decisions into clear commercial benefits.
• Strategize partnerships with silicon vendors, platform providers, and development collaborators, aligning engagement with business priorities.
• Drive cross-company alignment on technology platforms to identify reuse opportunities and reduce complexity.
• Support technical due diligence for acquisitions and strategic investments, evaluating technology fit and long-term value.

Qualifications and Experience

• Over 15 years of experience in embedded technology leadership and customer-facing technical roles.
• Demonstrated ability to align technology choices with commercial success and create long-term value.
• Strong communication skills with experience collaborating across sales, marketing, operations, and finance.
• Financial acumen related to evaluating technology investments and trade-offs.
• MBA or comparable business education is advantageous.
• Experience in regulated or mission-critical industries preferred.
