Cleaner

Overview

This role requires a dedicated cleaner to maintain hygiene and cleanliness at a resort setting in Harcourt, Ontario. The position demands at least five years of experience and a secondary school completion certificate. All work tasks are to be performed onsite, with no remote work possibility.

Languages and Education

• Proficiency in English
• Completion of secondary (high) school education

Work Environment and Locations

• Non-smoking workplace
• Settings include resort hotel, motel, restaurant, day spa, apartment/condominium complex, office buildings, cleaning service company, and remote locations
• Staff accommodation is provided, with willingness to relocate expected

Key Responsibilities

• Sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing floors
• Dusting furniture
• Vacuuming carpets, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered items
• Making beds and changing linens
• Supplying clean towels and toiletries
• Stocking linen closets
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and polishing kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
• Sanitizing operating rooms and other designated areas
• Cleaning and disinfecting elevators
• Managing and reporting lost and found items
• Providing basic information regarding the facilities
• Collecting debris and emptying trash cans
• Assisting clients with bathing and personal hygiene
• Maintaining cleanliness in changing rooms and showers

Certifications and Licenses

• Housekeeping room attendant certification required
• Valid Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification

Additional Information

• Candidates must have their own transportation, vehicle, and a valid driver's license
• Willingness to travel as part of job duties
• The job demands physical endurance including bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, standing for long periods, walking, repetitive tasks and the ability to work independently under pressure
