About the Role

Hanger, Inc. is a leading provider of orthotic and prosthetic services and products, known for advanced clinical solutions, specialized programs, and strong customer care. Its Patient Care division operates the largest network of O&P clinics in the country, while the Products & Services division supplies branded and private-label devices, components, and rehabilitation solutions. With 160 years of clinical experience and innovation, the organization aims to improve mobility, independence, patient outcomes, and overall value.

Role Summary

In this position, you will work under the direct supervision of a certified clinician and support licensed or certified practitioners in delivering patient care. You will also report to the ACM/CM or a designated representative. The role combines hands-on patient support, technical fabrication, documentation, inventory handling, and administrative work.

Key Duties

  • Assist clinicians with patient care activities under direct supervision.
  • Provide OTS orthotics independently.
  • Set up treatment rooms and prepare patients for procedures.
  • Take and adjust molds, carry out technical fabrication tasks, and complete administrative work.
  • Keep patient care documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Carry out adjustments, repairs, and modifications as directed by the supervising clinician.
  • Support selected patient care procedures, including fitting soft-good items and making fitting changes when needed.
  • Provide follow-up support for selected orthotic and prosthetic patients under supervision.
  • Handle shipping, receiving, stock tracking, and related clerical duties.
  • Coordinate with vendors to order orthotic and prosthetic materials.
  • Make sure all patient procedures align with the supervising clinician’s instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • Follow safety rules and comply with Medicare, government, blood-borne pathogen, and OSHA requirements.

Supervision and Compliance

Direct supervision means the credentialed supervisor must be available throughout the patient care process, either on site or in real time through audio and visual technology. The supervisor must visually review care as it happens, check the documentation, and countersign all caregiver entries in the patient record within 15 days. The supervisor must be a nationally recognized orthotic, prosthetic, and pedorthic credentialed or licensed professional, and is responsible for safe, ethical, and effective care within their certified scope of practice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 0 to 1 year of experience in a customer service or patient-facing role.
  • Background in allied health areas such as PTA, OTA, or athletic training is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or be eligible to obtain one, and maintain a driving record that meets the company’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.

Success Factors

  • Willingness to confirm all clinical activities with certified clinical staff.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Practical hand skills to use laboratory tools safely and effectively.
  • Understanding of biomechanical principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Good planning and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team.
  • Integrity, honesty, transparency, and respect in every interaction.
  • Patient-centered mindset and commitment to building trust.
  • Openness to collaboration, innovation, and change.
  • Focus on high-quality outcomes and efficient work processes.

Benefits and Growth

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • 8 paid national holidays plus 4 floating holidays.
  • PTO covering vacation and sick time.

  • Student loan repayment assistance depending on location.
