Role Overview

We are searching for a Clothing Designer to join our Production team. This role involves supporting the Head of Product and Head of Design by developing innovative clothing and accessory designs tailored for various markets and brands. You will also enhance design templates and systems to streamline the production and sales support processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in both internal and client meetings to understand project briefs.
  • Translate brand guidelines into fitting design concepts considering product categories, collections, colours, and logo applications.
  • Work closely with the production team to evaluate product requirements across different markets and brand portfolios.
  • Present and articulate design ideas and products to internal teams and clients effectively.
  • Engage with clients to clarify design concepts and propose creative solutions.
  • Prepare comprehensive product specifications and artworks for production purposes.
  • Assess factory samples, providing precise and actionable feedback on aspects such as colour, fabric, fit, and branding compliance.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with international suppliers to uphold design intent and production standards.
  • Investigate market trends including textiles innovations and branding methodologies in clothing and accessories.
  • Generate high-quality visual materials in multiple formats including physical and digital media.
  • Attend design and supplier meetings when needed.
  • Distribute artworks and assets within internal departments to support various functions.
  • Organize and manage all digital files to document design ideas, client responses, and progress through production stages effectively.
  • Innovate by developing fresh product concepts through creative ideation.
  • Continually aim to enhance storyboard creativity and relevance.
  • Keep abreast of fashion and retail developments to influence new product and range ideas.
  • Exhibit strong retail insight by reviewing store reports and recommending new ranges.
  • Collaborate closely with product developers to ensure designs are feasible for production.
  • Constructively incorporate feedback to refine designs and meet project objectives.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail throughout every phase of design and development.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate should hold a degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a comparable discipline. Previous experience in clothing and accessory design within a commercial setting is highly desirable. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, alongside outstanding technical drawing and illustration capabilities, is essential. A thorough understanding of garment construction, materials, and printing processes is required, along with a keen insight into global fashion trends and retail brands. Excellent communication skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and exhibit strong collaboration, organization, and adaptability are essential qualities.
