About the Role
Airswift, a global provider of workforce solutions specializing in Energy, Infrastructure, and IT sectors across more than 70 countries, is partnering with a leading Oil & Gas operator to recruit a Commissioning Specialist (Technical) focused on offshore compression projects. This is a long-term contract position based on-site in Qatar, requiring residential presence and working 6 days a week, 10 hours per day.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer comprehensive technical and administrative support to the Central Function (CFx) team, ensuring smooth commissioning, systems completion, operational handover, and technical governance for Compression projects.
- Manage and maintain CFx information systems, including SharePoint sites, document libraries, workflows, permissions, and technical repositories.
- Maintain technical libraries comprising commissioning procedures, specifications, templates, lessons learned, and guidance documents.
- Assist in preparation, revision, formatting, and control of job descriptions, procedures, presentations, technical reports, and governance materials.
- Coordinate recruitment processes, onboarding, resource planning, manpower reporting, and personnel assessments.
- Support administration of specialist service contracts, framework agreements, change orders, and contractor performance monitoring.
- Generate management reports, dashboards, action trackers, recruitment and resource forecasts, and technical status updates.
- Facilitate document reviews, approval workflows, distribution, and technical communication across CFx teams, project stakeholders, operations, and contractors.
- Provide user support and guidance for SharePoint systems and information management tools.
- Drive continuous improvements in information management practices and system functionalities to enhance efficiency.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering is required.
- At least 12 years of experience in commissioning medium to large projects within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proven experience managing SharePoint sites, document controls, and workflow processes.
- Experienced in supporting technical documentation management, including procedures, specifications, lessons learned, reports, and controlled documents.
- Skilled in recruitment coordination, onboarding, manpower reporting, and resource planning in project or operational settings.
- Strong understanding of commissioning phases, systems completion, project execution, and operational handover lifecycle.
- Competent in reading and interpreting P&IDs, datasheets, general arrangement drawings, and procedures.
- Familiarity with compliance standards, contract technical specifications, and vendor management.
- Hands-on experience with vendors in LNG-related equipment such as compressors, power generation, control systems, and topsides.
- Experience within large-scale operating organizations, including Operations, Projects, and Subsurface departments.
- Expertise in startup support activities and vendor supervision (SAT, OTP, etc.).

Working Conditions & Contract Details
- Location: Onshore site in Qatar;
- Contract Duration: 36 months with potential for extension;
- Working Hours: Six days per week, ten hours per day;
- Start Date: Flexible, typically within one month’s notice.
