About the role

SMEC is seeking a Contract Specialist to support a large, complex infrastructure assignment in Rajshahi. This position is suited to someone who understands contract administration in construction or engineering environments and can contribute to smooth project execution, dispute handling, and claims-related processes.

In this role, you will work closely with the client and consultant team, help ensure compliance with contract conditions, and support certification, arbitration, and overall contractual coordination on the project.

Responsibilities

  • Handle contract administration activities for the project.
  • Support the client and consultant on matters related to contract interpretation and execution.
  • Assist the team leader in checking that construction quality aligns with specifications and international standards.
  • Prepare contractor certificates and contribute to dispute handling, claims resolution, and arbitration support.
  • Provide guidance and input on all contractual matters that arise during the project.
  • Maintain compliance with the FIDIC Silver contract and ER requirements.

Requirements

  • A graduate degree in a relevant discipline is required.
  • 10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience is expected.
  • Prior exposure to EPC or turnkey project environments will be an advantage.
  • Experience with FIDIC Silver Book projects is preferred.
