Job Context and Responsibilities

The Risk team plays a crucial role by providing underwriting services essential for business integrity, risk management, and sustainability of ABHFL. Mirroring the Sales/Sourcing organization structure, the Risk team ensures controls and process checks to sustain business health and performance. The credit manager's responsibilities revolve around establishing underwriting and risk frameworks for sound credit evaluation, influencing business decisions such as loan approvals and growth strategies.

Challenges

Challenges in this role include managing the unique risks linked to construction finance, especially risks of under-construction projects facing delays or failure. The manager must balance rigorous risk control with business growth ambitions during this rapid expansion phase, all while navigating varying regional regulations and market practices across India.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform credit and risk operations for assigned transactions in adherence with ABHFL's established frameworks.
  • Proactively seek guidance on technical, regional, and property-specific risk considerations.
  • Coordinate with legal, technical, and verification vendors for comprehensive evaluations in complex cases.
  • Monitor and manage bounce rates to stay within threshold limits.
  • Ensure efficient execution of risk processes that support business performance without compromising risk management principles.
  • Work closely with Credit Processing Analysts and other teams to maintain smooth case flows and decision-making aligned with risk and business requirements, escalating issues as needed.
  • Manage external vendors to guarantee quality reports and timely delivery.
  • Track and control operational costs to remain within approved budgets.
  • Ensure precise data input into the Loan Origination System (LOS) and maintain high-quality documentation standards.
  • Oversee timely collection of post-disbursal documents.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong commercial and business acumen combined with analytical prowess.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and presentation capabilities.
  • Proven team leadership and ability to execute operational tasks efficiently.
  • Education: CA or MBA in Finance.
  • Experience: Between 0 to 3 years in bank, NBFC, or housing finance company.
