Customer Delivery Driver

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver, you will be the public face of Tesco, bringing shopping directly to customers’ homes and ensuring every delivery is handled with care, professionalism, and a positive attitude. This position extends beyond simply driving a van; you'll form meaningful interactions with customers while maintaining high standards for their orders and the delivery vehicles.

Working Hours

• Shifts are between 08:00 and 20:00, available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays.
• A minimum of 16 hours per week is guaranteed, with options for 12-hour roles as well.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure the delivery van, trays, and workspace are kept clean, orderly, and well-maintained, guaranteeing customers receive their goods in perfect condition.
• Safely load the delivery van, carry out all vehicle checks, and confirm roadworthiness each day.
• Communicate any changes to the order, discuss substitutions or items close to expiry, and process refunds as needed in a courteous manner.
• Deliver customer orders within scheduled times, providing a friendly, professional service at each doorstep.
• Thoroughly handle each item with care, treating every order as if it were your own to maintain quality.

Requirements

• Full UK, EU, or EEA driving licence (manual or automatic) held for at least 12 months and with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Ability to work largely independently, while building supportive relationships with your team and managers back at the store.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with both customers and colleagues.
• Willingness to adapt quickly to changes in customer needs and delivery situations.
