Customer Delivery Driver

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, delivering their groceries directly to their homes. This role involves more than just driving; it's about providing excellent customer service with a friendly demeanor. It's a physically active and varied job where each day presents new challenges. While you'll work independently for most of your shift, a supportive team is always available at the base.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of your van, delivery trays, and workspace to ensure customer orders are delivered in pristine condition.
• Safely load the van and conduct all necessary checks to confirm it is roadworthy and prepared for deliveries.
• Communicate clearly and kindly with customers regarding any changes to their order, including substitutions or items with short shelf lives, and process refunds as needed to ensure a smooth transaction.
• Handle all products with utmost care, treating each delivery as if it were your own to uphold product quality and customer trust.
• Ensure timely delivery within the allocated customer time slots, offering a warm and genuine service at the doorstep to make customers feel valued and well-cared for.

Requirements

• Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Demonstrate the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues to foster team spirit and enhance customer service.
• Exhibit a warm and welcoming attitude towards both customers and colleagues.
• Be adaptable and responsive to evolving customer needs and embrace changes encountered during shifts.
