Customer Delivery Driver

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, delivering their groceries directly to their homes. This role involves more than just driving; it's about providing excellent customer service with a friendly demeanor. The job is physically demanding and offers daily variety, with no two shifts being identical. While you will work independently for most of the day, a supportive team of managers and colleagues will be available at the base for assistance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of your van, delivery trays, and workspace to ensure customer orders are delivered in pristine condition.
• Safely load the van and conduct all necessary checks to confirm its roadworthiness, reliability, and readiness for service.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding any order discrepancies, substitutions, or items with short shelf lives, offering refunds as needed to ensure a smooth transaction.
• Handle all products with utmost care, treating each order with the same attention as if it were your own to preserve quality and maintain customer trust.
• Adhere to scheduled delivery times, providing a warm and genuine service experience at the customer's doorstep, leaving them feeling valued and well-cared for.

Requirements

• Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for a minimum of 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Demonstrate the ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, fostering a positive team spirit to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Exhibit a warm and welcoming attitude towards both customers and colleagues.
• Be adaptable and responsive to evolving customer needs, embracing changes encountered during deliveries and within the store environment.

Eligibility
