Job description

Core Focus Areas

  • Security Operations and continuous monitoring of threats (40%)
  • Ensuring compliance and managing documentation (30%)
  • Providing user support and promoting security awareness (20%)

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts, investigate suspicious events, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Participate in phishing response, conduct security awareness initiatives, and guide users on secure practices.
  • Assist in incident triage, evidence gathering, documentation, and follow-up under senior staff supervision.
  • Administer and support security tools such as endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication, VPN, and email security.
  • Contribute to compliance with frameworks like CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and protect Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Maintain precise documentation, engage in security projects, and collaborate with teams to bolster overall security posture.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, common threats, controls, and incident response processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Windows OS, endpoint security, and enterprise IT operations.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail.
  • Clear communication skills, effective documentation, and ability to work well with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Eagerness to learn about security operations and compliance in a regulated defense or aerospace context.
  • Capability to manage sensitive information professionally and discreetly.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Information Systems, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years in cybersecurity, system administration, network administration, IT support, or related roles.
  • Basic knowledge of security tools, user access controls, endpoint protection, log analysis, and vulnerability management.
  • Readiness to understand defense and aerospace cybersecurity standards including CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR, and CUI handling.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 is advantageous.
  • Experience in regulated sectors like manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or industrial settings is preferred.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), or Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200) are beneficial.

Additional Details

  • Work locations include Seattle, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, or Springfield, MA.
  • The annual salary ranges from $72,000 to $88,000.
  • A performance bonus of 10% is provided under the Management Incentive Plan.
