Role overview
CFGI is looking for a data-focused professional to join its Data and Analytics team within Business Transformation as a Manager. In this role, you will work directly with clients to design, build, and roll out processes and tools that reshape how they use data as a strategic asset. The team supports organizations in defining data strategies, creating automation, and developing dashboards and predictive analytics solutions that drive measurable business results.
What you will do
You will oversee a range of client engagements, connect business goals with cross-functional partners, and contribute to both operational process design and analytics-tool requirements. The role calls for someone who can work autonomously while still partnering closely with stakeholders across the client organization to lead projects and support transformation efforts. You will also help with scope definition, budget planning and tracking, and the creation of internal resources and templates that improve team efficiency and capability.
Technical and business focus
The ideal candidate brings a strong CPA or finance-oriented background and can use data analytics tools to solve client challenges. The team works in a tool-agnostic way, tailoring solutions to each client using technologies such as Python or Alteryx for workflow automation and Power BI or Tableau for reporting and visualization. Strong communication, organization, and practical experience on data analytics engagements are key to successfully initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects.
Key responsibilities
- Turn data and analytics outputs into clear, practical insights, and present reports and findings to clients in a concise, business-friendly way.
- Build and run transformation and analysis processes across large structured and unstructured datasets, including both quantitative and qualitative information.
- Take ownership of projects from requirements gathering through delivery by solving problems independently and implementing suitable analytics solutions.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and maintain strong working relationships across internal teams and client organizations.
- For manager-level candidates, bring project management experience across cross-functional efforts such as accounting and finance, FP&A, modeling, and technology implementations.
- Explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences in a simple way while staying collaborative and open to learning new tools.
- Manage your own workload and responsibilities effectively.
Skills and tools
Relevant experience may include Alteryx, Power Automate, Power BI, Tableau, data architecture, data modeling, analytics, Excel, finance/accounting, data science, visualization, solution architecture, workflow automation, programming languages such as SQL, Java, Python, or R, relational databases, cloud or data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks, and data engineering.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required; preferred academic backgrounds include Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Statistics, and Computer Science.
- CPA or another relevant professional credential is preferred.
- Prior analytics experience, ideally in a client-facing environment, is expected.
- You should have strong communication, collaboration, presentation, and project management skills.
- Ability to research issues and create practical ad hoc solutions is important.
- Advanced Excel capability is required, including functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF statements, and INDEX/MATCH.
- Applicants should have a strong core skill set, one technical area of deep expertise used consistently for at least 2+ years, and at least two additional technical areas where they have working knowledge.
