Role Overview
This full-time, onsite position based in Abu Dhabi calls for a Data Architect to spearhead the design, deployment, and governance of enterprise-wide data architectures. Responsibilities encompass creating comprehensive data models, managing data flows, and coordinating integration strategies across diverse systems and platforms. The role demands collaboration with engineering, analytics, and business units to set data standards, refine data pipelines, and uphold data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
- Assess emerging data technologies to inform architectural decisions.
- Lead design efforts for data warehousing and data lake solutions.
- Produce thorough documentation of architectural designs and recommended best practices.
- Provide technical direction for data-centric initiatives and projects.
- Optimize system performance through tuning and capacity planning.
- Drive modernization efforts leveraging advanced analytics and AI technologies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven expertise in data architecture and modeling, covering conceptual, logical, and physical models along with enterprise-scale data design.
- Hands-on experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, BigQuery, or equivalents.
- Strong background with data integration, ETL/ELT processes, real-time and batch data pipelines, and API-driven data exchanges.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automation or infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Understanding of data needs for analytics and artificial intelligence, supporting machine learning, NLP, and advanced analytics workloads.
- Knowledgeable in data governance, quality assurance frameworks, metadata management, and compliance relating to security and privacy laws.
- Excellent collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams to translate business needs into practical data systems and maintain clear architectural documentation.
- Academic credentials: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or relevant disciplines, or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience in a Data Architect or comparable senior role, ideally within contexts involving digital transformation or analytics-oriented settings.
