Role Summary
The company is expanding its operations and is hiring Data Centre Technicians to contribute to several high-importance data centre projects across Saudi Arabia. Professionals with backgrounds in Electrical, Medium Voltage, HVAC, Mechanical Cooling, Controls or BMS are encouraged to apply if they are committed to maintaining strong performance in critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and upkeep of essential data centre systems, helping ensure high availability and dependable performance.
- Run, oversee and service core data centre infrastructure to support uptime and system reliability.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and reactive repairs across electrical, HVAC, cooling, BMS, controls and medium voltage equipment based on your specialist area.
- Track critical assets using BMS, DCIM and plant monitoring platforms, and act promptly when alarms or faults occur.
- Carry out inspections, take equipment readings and perform routine walkthroughs across the facility.
- Identify and isolate faults, troubleshoot technical problems and assist with the safe recovery of critical systems.
- Support incident response, shutdowns, start-ups and restoration work in line with approved procedures.
- Follow Permit to Work, Lock Out Tag Out and health and safety requirements without exception.
- Keep maintenance logs, shift records and CMMS job records accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate with engineers, suppliers and contractors during maintenance tasks and project-related work.
- Assist with commissioning, testing and readiness activities for new data centre sites.
- Work on a rotating 24/7 shift roster, including nights, weekends and on-call duties where needed for mission-critical operations.
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in critical facilities and a solid technical foundation relevant to data centre operations.
- At least 3 years of experience in mission-critical settings such as data centres, power generation, utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications, hospitals or similar environments.
- Technical diploma, trade certificate or similar qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, BMS, Controls, Medium Voltage or a related field.
- Background in operating or maintaining critical equipment such as UPS systems, generators, switchgear, medium voltage systems, CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water systems, cooling plants, BMS or DCIM platforms.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis and safe isolation practices.
- Experience using CMMS tools and producing clear maintenance documentation.
- Familiarity with PTW, LOTO and health and safety procedures in industrial or critical environments.
- Ability to work rotating 24/7 shifts and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Prior data centre experience is preferred, though candidates with strong critical facilities experience will also be considered.
- Certifications such as CDCTP, First Aid, HSE, LOTO or OEM training would be an advantage.
