About Twitch
Twitch is the leading global live streaming platform connecting diverse communities around gaming, entertainment, music, sports, cooking, and more. Every day, thousands of communities engage with each other through our service. Our culture promotes collaboration, problem solving, and commitment to empowering live communities worldwide.
Role Overview
As a Data Scientist on Twitch's Monetization team, you will contribute to building products that support creator income streams, including Subscriptions, Bits, and Gifting. You will analyze pricing strategies and packaging while working cross-functionally with product, engineering, finance, and data teams. Your work will include designing and evaluating experiments, applying causal inference techniques especially when A/B tests aren't viable, and performing segmentation and revenue optimization analyses. This position offers the opportunity to influence impactful product decisions through rigorous quantitative approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Employ causal inference methodologies when traditional experiments can't be performed
- Develop models and detailed analyses to guide pricing, segmentation, and revenue optimization strategies
- Design, conduct, and interpret results from A/B testing experiments
- Translate complex business questions into clear measurement frameworks through collaboration with product, engineering, and finance teams
- Create and uphold dashboards, recurring reports, and analytical tools to drive ongoing decision-making processes
Qualification Requirements
- At least three years’ professional experience as a data scientist, applied scientist, economist, or in a related quantitative discipline; or a PhD in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field
- Strong proficiency in SQL
- Experience with Python or R programming languages
- Solid understanding of experimental design and causal inference including A/B testing and quasi-experimental approaches
- Effective communication skills capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience constructing dashboards and automating reports
Preferred Additional Skills
- Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) in Economics, Statistics, or a quantitative field
- Hands-on experience with consumer-facing products handling high transaction volumes such as subscriptions or marketplace platforms
- Familiarity with Airflow, AWS SageMaker, or deploying machine learning models in production environments
- Knowledge of advanced causal machine learning techniques including double machine learning, causal forests, and heterogeneous treatment effect models
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation varies by location and experience, with base salary ranges as follows:
- Seattle, WA: $136,000–$184,000 per year
- San Francisco, CA: $157,300–$212,800 per year
- New York, NY: $153,400–$207,500 per year
The total remuneration package includes potential sign-on bonuses and stock options, complemented by comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision and disability insurance, 401(k) plan with matching, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and employee discounts.

Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered in compliance with local fair chance ordinances. Candidate information is handled per Twitch's privacy policies.
