About the Role

Join a highly specialized quantitative team within a globally recognized management consultancy, consistently ranked among the top five worldwide. This team is embedded within one of the largest professional services groups, enjoying significant resources, broad client access, and strong brand recognition. The firm operates across Europe with a rapidly expanding Data & Analytics division focused on sectors including financial services, climate and sustainability, energy, retail, and transportation.

Technologies and Tools

  • Programming languages: Python, R, SQL, SAS, SPSS
  • Machine learning and modelling frameworks: scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost
  • Data platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Spark
  • Development tools: Git, dbt, Airflow, Docker
  • Practices include model validation, experimentation frameworks, and effective communication tailored for stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data-driven initiatives, including hypothesis generation, data acquisition, model development, and result delivery
  • Extract insights and effectively communicate findings to senior client stakeholders
  • Mentor and support the growth of junior team members
  • Travel approximately 50% of the time, balancing between client site visits and remote working, with consideration for individual circumstances
  • Collaborate directly within client teams to ensure high-quality outcomes

Candidate Profile

  • Educational background in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering; advanced degrees (Masters or PhD) are common but not mandatory
  • Between 3 and 8+ years of hands-on experience working with complex datasets and delivering deployed models
  • Professional experience within consulting, leading banks, or specialized financial institutions
  • Ability to clearly explain model functions and significance to a non-technical audience
  • Proficient in English; additional European languages are advantageous

Additional Information

Location is Berlin with a hybrid working model requiring 2 to 3 days onsite per week. The salary range is €50,000 to €120,000 annually, dependent on experience and level.
