Where you'll work
Job description
Role overview
In this role, you will use data science and analytics to help guide product decisions across Meta's family of apps, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. The work centers on understanding how people and businesses use Meta products, identifying growth opportunities, and helping teams improve the experience at scale.
You will work closely with partners across Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and other functions. Your work will combine technical analysis, experimentation, and product thinking to tackle high-impact business and product challenges. The role also offers access to a strong analytics community focused on career development and growth.
What you'll do
- Use large, complex datasets to address difficult business and product questions through statistical and analytical methods.
- Apply quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and clear data presentation to help shape product strategy for products used by billions of people and hundreds of millions of businesses.
- Set goals, forecast outcomes, and monitor key metrics to assess product performance and identify trends.
- Find, evaluate, and test product opportunities and improvement levers, then turn insights into recommendations that influence roadmaps.
- Work with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to support product strategy and investment choices.
How you will add value
This position requires someone who can do more than report results. You will be expected to translate analysis into practical recommendations, communicate findings in a compelling way, and help partners make decisions with confidence. The ideal candidate can balance technical rigor with product intuition and influence.
Minimum qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience using analytics tools and data querying languages such as SQL, scripting languages such as Python, and/or statistical software such as R.
- At least 2 years of experience solving analytical problems with quantitative methods, understanding user behavior and product trends, and leading data-driven projects from definition through execution, including metrics design, experimentation, and communication of actionable insights.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced degree such as a Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline.
- Proven ability to use AI tools to improve or redesign workflows and create measurable benefits such as higher efficiency or better quality.
- Experience applying responsible and ethical AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and accuracy/quality review.
- Ongoing development in AI-related skills such as prompt and context engineering, agent orchestration, and familiarity with emerging AI technologies.
