About the role

Siemens is looking for a Demand Planning Professional to support procurement and materials planning for its smart infrastructure business in Panaji, Goa. The role focuses on keeping materials available for production, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and improving planning efficiency across the supply chain.

Order management

  • Source electrical equipment from both domestic and international suppliers.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendors to secure strong commercial and delivery outcomes.
  • Collect, review, and follow up on vendor order acknowledgements.

Material planning and monitoring

  • Monitor MRP activity, purchase requisition progress, and purchase order creation for stock items.
  • Share timely and detailed updates on material readiness with production planning, product management, and other stakeholders.
  • Keep close watch on urgent shortages and missing components so production is not delayed.

Process and system management

  • Use the SETU tool effectively for GRN processing.
  • Track web cycles and digitally signed invoices from domestic vendors.
  • Follow up on vendor advance payments and work with finance/accounting teams to complete reconciliation.

Risk management and supplier performance

  • Spot supply chain risks early and support action plans to reduce disruption.
  • Review supplier performance across delivery timeliness, quality, and responsiveness, and drive corrective action where needed.
  • Coordinate with quality teams on return material processing and credit note receipt.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Partner with engineering, production, quality assurance, and R&D teams to align procurement with project needs.
  • Manage expedite and pushout requests with shippers, logistics partners, and customs teams.
  • Use procurement systems and tools to improve workflow efficiency and visibility.

Continuous improvement and market analysis

  • Study market trends, assess suppliers, and identify opportunities to reduce cost.
  • Create and track KPIs to measure procurement and planning performance.
  • Stay current on industry practices and developments in electronic product procurement.

Qualifications

The role requires a B.E. in Electrical, ETC, or Mechanical engineering, along with 3 to 5 years of experience in supply chain or material management in a technical environment.

Skills and approach

The ideal candidate should understand MRP, PR, and PO processes, supplier management, and procurement systems. Strong analytical thinking, negotiation ability, problem-solving skills, and comfort working across functions are important.
