Role Summary

This position is for a Design and Estimation Engineer in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, on-site role focused on preparing project quotations, building accurate bills of quantities, researching feasibility and technical requirements, and coordinating terms with clients or suppliers. The engineer will also work with the broader engineering team to develop customized switchgear and automation solutions that align with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects with accuracy and attention to scope.
  • Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for switchgear and related engineering work.
  • Carry out feasibility studies and technical research to support project planning.
  • Work with clients and suppliers to discuss and negotiate project terms.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to create custom switchgear and automation designs.
  • Ensure all design output complies with client requirements and relevant standards.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in preparing BOQs and estimating switchgear panel projects.
  • Solid grounding in electrical engineering and technical design workflows.
  • Ability to research project feasibility, specifications, and technical details thoroughly.
  • Comfortable using relevant design and estimation software and tools.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to deliver work within project timelines.
  • Experience with switchgear or low-voltage products will be a clear advantage.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required.
