About the Role
Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Assistant to join their team at Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This full-time, onsite position is crucial for supporting the Diagnostic Imaging department by performing essential patient care and clerical tasks. The role involves ensuring a safe and compliant environment, adhering to professional guidelines, quality assurance programs, and accreditation standards, all while upholding the mission and values of Shared Health.
Responsibilities
- Assist technical staff in Diagnostic Imaging by performing patient transport, including lifts, moves, and transfers.
- Undertake various clerical duties to support departmental operations.
- Manage supply inventory and handle clean and soiled linen services.
- Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with provincial guidelines and accreditation standards.
- Adhere to the Mission and Values of Shared Health, along with current policies, procedures, and legislation.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 1-2 years of recent, relevant experience, ideally within a Diagnostic Imaging setting.
- Hold a certified Health Care Aide certificate from a recognized educational institution.
- Maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and courteously with patients and hospital staff.
- Exhibit flexibility and independence in work planning, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including extensive standing, walking, bending, lifting, and safe patient transfers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and/or overtime as needed.
- Must provide a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
