Job description

Position Overview

The Dining Services Duty Supervisor will oversee all operations of the dining outlet, focusing on training, scheduling, coaching, and staff development in alignment with company policies. This role includes managing inventory, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and food safety standards while maintaining excellent customer relationships and addressing complaints related to food quality and service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage daily outlet operations including customer relations and inventory control.
  • Support the line manager in overseeing employee performance, operations, and minimizing food wastage.
  • Supervise the outlet's service standards and monitor overall outlet performance.
  • Maintain outlet inventory, cleanliness, proper food rotation, and service consistency.
  • Assist Dining Services management with service preparations, adherence to kitchen regulations, service standards, cleanliness, and inventory oversight.
  • Train team leaders on their specific duties and uphold service and hygiene standards based on HACCP guidelines.
  • Ensure proper cleaning, maintenance, and functioning of the outlet and service equipment.
  • Engage in commercial initiatives to explore new business opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships focusing on improving food safety, service quality, and hygiene.
  • Help the line manager in administrative tasks including reporting, quality assurance, and facilitating department meetings.
  • Coordinate operations smoothly with cross-functional departments.
  • Evaluate HACCP standards continuously and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure all staff comply with grooming standards including well-maintained hair and beard for a professional appearance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree or High School diploma accompanied by at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven background in large-scale food and beverage catering at senior supervisory or managerial levels (such as Senior Supervisor, F&B Manager, Assistant Manager, or Supervisor).
  • Experience in environments similar to industrial, contract, airline, or cruise line catering.
  • Strong customer service skills with proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial capabilities.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with POS systems.
