Position Overview
The Director of Procurement Operations spearheads the redesign and expansion of Lennar’s comprehensive procurement processes, covering everything from vendor onboarding through purchase order fulfillment and change order management. Collaborating closely with Finance, IT, Legal, and business teams, this role aims to implement AI solutions, automate workflows, and enhance performance analytics to boost compliance, transparency, and efficiency at an enterprise level.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage and refine procurement workflows, policies, approval structures, and governance in conjunction with Finance, IT, Accounting, Legal, and other business stakeholders.
- Develop procurement governance standards and internal controls, ensuring compliance and readiness for audits as the company grows.
- Build and guide a high-performance procurement operations team focusing on operational excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Oversee the entire purchase request to purchase order cycle, emphasizing process efficiency and adherence to spend authorizations.
- Ensure accuracy of purchase orders, contract compliance, and audit readiness across legal entities, currencies, and accounting standards.
- Set protocols for managing change orders, including documentation, pricing checks, budget assessments, approvals, and escalation to reduce unauthorized modifications.
- Drive lifecycle management of vendors, governance of renewals, and optimization of spend alongside sourcing and business partners.
- Lead deployment and integration of AI tools and workflow automation for purchase requisition/order routing, invoice matching, exception handling, and supplier intelligence, in collaboration with IT.
- Maintain procurement operations KPIs such as cycle times, throughput, order delivery, change order rates, spend management, compliance, and supplier performance; provide executive reports to support strategic decisions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, procure-to-pay, finance operations, or supply chain, with minimum 5 years in leadership roles.
- Proven expertise in managing purchase request, purchase order, and change order processes in enterprise or rapidly growing environments.
- History of implementing procurement transformations, automation, or AI solutions on a substantial scale.
- Experience with governance, internal controls, compliance frameworks, and audit preparedness in publicly traded or SOX-regulated settings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with procure-to-pay and ERP systems such as Zip, JD Edwards, NetSuite, or Coupa.
- CPSM or CPM certification is desirable.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior management and foster cross-functional partnerships.
- Strategic thinker with operational execution expertise, possessing strong analytical, systems thinking, and process optimization abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and change management skills to engage all organizational levels effectively.
- Successful track record driving scalable operational transformations in dynamic and results-oriented environments.
