About the Role

Join Downer's Construction team in Invercargill as a Drainlayer / Machine Operator, contributing to vital civil and infrastructure projects in the Southland region. This role involves operating machinery and conducting drainage installations and earthworks on real infrastructure developments that serve the community.

Responsibilities

As part of your day-to-day duties, you will handle drainage installations, perform earthworks, and operate relevant machinery while ensuring all work aligns with project plans and safety standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in drainage installation and civil construction tasks.
• Valid WTR endorsements with practical machine operation experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and levels.
• Understanding of trench safety protocols and underground service precautions.
• Possession of a Class 2 driver’s license or higher is advantageous.
• Strong commitment to safe work practices and workplace safety culture.
