Job description

Job Overview

This role involves ensuring safe and efficient operation and upkeep of electrical equipment across well sites, Group Gathering Stations, and Compressor Stations. The engineer will execute preventive and predictive maintenance, operate power generation and distribution networks, and manage record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate and maintain all electrical equipment installed at diverse well sites, Group Gathering, and Compressor Stations following preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on plant assets and update history and maintenance sheets diligently.
  • Manage operations and upkeep of the 11 KV gas engine power generation stations along with the 11 KV and 1.1 KV distribution network including underground cables, package substations, 11 KV switchgear, VCB, bus ducts, power/distribution transformers, neutral grounding resistors, synchronization panels, VFDs, UPS systems, and battery banks.
  • Prepare reports on spare parts consumption and determine spare parts requirements for all electrical equipment packages.
  • Coordinate with planning & control teams and vendors to obtain quotations, ensure timely spare deliveries, oversee warehouse inspections, and maintain Goods Received Notes (GRN).
  • Identify and plan long-term shutdown tasks for execution effectively.
  • Ensure uninterrupted 24/7 operation of gas engines, group gathering stations, and well site equipment.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs), monitoring strict adherence.
  • Create and maintain maintenance schedules (daily, monthly, quarterly) per vendor guidelines and track equipment health records.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and monitor timely delivery of spares, ensuring correct GRN and service entries for punctual vendor and contractor payments.
  • Monitor maintenance performance metrics to comply with environmental regulations and standards.
  • Address inspection and safety audit feedback promptly and provide responses to leadership.
  • Collaborate effectively with operations, drilling, land acquisition, and security teams fostering teamwork and information sharing.
  • Maintain close liaison with Electrical Lead and Installation Manager for coordinated operations.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Comprehensive understanding of industry codes, safety work permit systems, Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Proficient with SAP PM and MM modules for maintenance and materials management.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.

Experience Required

  • At least 3 years' practical experience in electrical operations and maintenance within oil and gas production environments.
  • Hands-on familiarity with high and low voltage transmission systems (HT/LT), transformers, potential & current transformers (PT, CT), vacuum circuit breakers (VCB), air circuit breakers (ACB), substations, motors, UPSs, batteries, and gas/diesel generators up to 1 MW capacity.
