About the Role

Join ZMI Holdings as an Electrical Engineer responsible for maintaining and ensuring the dependable operation of the fleet's electrical and electronic systems. You will play a critical role in supporting system installations, conducting maintenance, troubleshooting, and providing technical expertise to uphold safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical guidance and resolve issues related to marine electrical, navigation, communication, and automation systems.
  • Carry out both preventive and corrective maintenance including inspections, testing, and repairs of electrical and electronic components.
  • Assist in installation, commissioning, and system upgrades for electrical, safety, and monitoring equipment onboard ships.
  • Identify and analyze equipment failures and implement solutions to reduce downtime and boost system dependability.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation to aid maintenance efforts.
  • Document maintenance activities accurately through detailed reports and records.
  • Work closely with Technical Superintendents, vessel staff, contractors, and original equipment manufacturers to resolve technical challenges.
  • Oversee electricians ensuring all tasks comply with company policies, HSE standards, and classification society requirements.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; marine or offshore industry experience preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, control mechanisms, and marine electrical equipment.
  • Experience with vessel navigation, communication, automation, and safety systems is an asset.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to perform independently and collaborate within teams.
  • Good computer skills and meticulous attention to detail.
