Role Overview

The Electrical Estimator position is a full-time role located in O’Connor, WA, offering some flexibility for remote work. The primary responsibility is to analyze project documentation and create detailed electrical estimates and cost proposals for a variety of electrical and instrumentation projects. This includes reviewing drawings and specifications, gathering and assessing supplier and subcontractor quotes, and confirming that estimates meet project scope, safety guidelines, and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical drawings and project specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Solicit and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to support bid preparations.
  • Ensure all estimates align with safety standards, project scope, and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contracting teams for bid submissions and tender deliverables including schedules and plans.
  • Maintain estimating tools and databases to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in tender review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of estimation processes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical estimating, cost control, and preparing detailed project bids while managing budgets.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical contracting, electricity systems, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Background in electrical engineering or related fields, with the capacity to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management applications.
  • Relevant trade qualifications or a degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a similar discipline.
  • Experience with industrial, commercial, or resource sector electrical projects within Western Australia is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities with careful attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to coordinate with diverse stakeholders including clients and suppliers.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and inclusive workplace practices, reflecting respect for Aboriginal-owned business values.
