Role overview
This position focuses on preserving the reliability and integrity of civil assets by spotting faults, diagnosing breakdowns, and applying practical troubleshooting methods. The goal is to improve uptime and availability of civil infrastructure while working within company policies, safety requirements, and approved budgets.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out routine civil maintenance work while following all applicable policies, procedures, standard operating practices, and instructions to ensure consistent and controlled execution.
- Stay updated on current maintenance methods and industry practices, and help improve systems, processes, and procedures.
- Prepare work estimates before starting maintenance jobs, evaluate cost versus benefit, and then carry out the work according to the plan.
- Implement periodic maintenance based on inputs and recommendations from the civil reliability team, ensuring timelines, quality expectations, and safety requirements are met; certify completion and confirm asset availability to the concerned stakeholders.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance at site for civil assets such as concrete structures, roads, and equipment foundations to reduce production or time loss and support productivity.
- Carry out PM01 orders as per the defined scope, schedule, estimated cost, and quality parameters.
- Plan and execute shutdown-related maintenance work, including modifications, so that all assigned tasks are completed within quality, safety, and cost limits.
- Track contractor performance throughout the job cycle to ensure compliance with scope, quality, safety, and budget expectations.
- Check contractor bills and costing details to confirm accurate invoicing based on actual work progress and adherence to quality and safety norms.
- Maintain meridian system records with maintenance history and other relevant information as required by policy.
- Arrange materials and services needed for maintenance activities, reconcile material usage, certify consumed materials against quality standards, and maintain records related to cost, usage, and value delivered.
- Support audits related to maintenance by preparing documents and reports, and help implement the corrective actions suggested.
- Assist in HSEF compliance work and contribute to the execution of action plans that strengthen safe work practices.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure they follow established policies and procedures.
- Ensure mandatory trainings are completed in line with company requirements and internal processes.
Safety and compliance
- Follow maintenance-related safety, fire, and environmental requirements to maintain a safe working environment for all plant personnel.
- Review plant and machinery conditions for civil maintenance-related safety, fire, and environmental risks, and take suitable action to reduce hazards.
Education requirement
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Experience and knowledge
- 0 to 3 years of experience in civil asset maintenance is needed.
- Working knowledge of civil maintenance procedures, relevant standards and codes, materials, methods, and tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with HSEF practices is expected.
- Strong analytical thinking, interpersonal ability, communication skills, and decision-making capability are important for this role.
