Engineer / Sr. Engineer – QA/QC (Quality Assurance & Quality Control)

Role summary

The position is for an Engineer or Senior Engineer in QA/QC at a residential project site. The selected professional will oversee quality assurance and quality control for assigned tower(s), making sure construction work follows approved drawings, technical specifications, and defined quality benchmarks.

The role requires close coordination with civil execution teams, subcontractors, and consultants to maintain quality across structural activities, reinforcement, shuttering/formwork systems, finishing works, and MEP installations.

Qualification and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• Certification in Quality Management or Construction Quality Control is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of QA/QC experience in construction projects is required, ideally in high-rise residential or commercial buildings.

Work location

This is a site-based role at the project location in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Core responsibilities

• Carry out routine quality checks at different stages of construction for the assigned tower(s).
• Confirm that work is being executed in line with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Track quality compliance across structural work, reinforcement, formwork, finishing, and MEP-related activities.
• Implement inspection and testing plans for construction activities.
• Review reinforcement checks, shuttering alignment, concrete work, finishing work, and MEP installations before approval.
• Oversee material testing and field testing processes.
• Confirm that all materials used on site meet approved standards and specifications.
• Check material test reports, inspection documentation, and certificates, including concrete cube test results and steel test reports.
• Spot quality deviations and non-conformance issues during inspections.
• Support the preparation of non-conformance reports and track corrective actions through closure.
• Ensure prompt rectification of quality issues at the work front.
• Work with civil engineers, tower in-charges, and subcontractors to uphold quality requirements.
• Help sequence activities properly so workmanship and construction quality are maintained.
• Support execution teams in resolving quality-related challenges.
• Coordinate consultant and client inspections for assigned work areas.
• Make sure work fronts are inspection-ready for approvals.
• Address consultant remarks and drive closure of observations.
• Maintain inspection checklists, quality reports, material approvals, and test records.
• Prepare daily inspection updates and quality monitoring reports for assigned tower(s).
• Keep documentation organized for audits and compliance checks.

Technical and working skills

• Strong understanding of construction quality standards and inspection practices.
• Hands-on experience in quality control for high-rise building projects.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of testing procedures for construction materials.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel and quality documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and inspection discipline.
• Good coordination skills for working with execution teams and subcontractors.
• Ability to enforce quality standards consistently on site.
